Lisa Wittmer is a biotech executive with 25 years of experience and a proven track record in successfully developing new therapeutics. As a serial entrepreneur, a business leader and global regulatory expert, she has held several executive and leadership roles in companies that have developed, commercialized and/or transacted therapeutic assets such as Shire Pharmaceuticals, Ceptaris Therapeutics, AMO Pharma and Venatorx Therapeutics. Dr. Wittmer has an MS in Chemistry and a PhD in Molecular Biophysics and Neuropharmacology from Washington University in St. Louis and was a Howard Hughes Post-doctoral Fellow in Developmental Neurobiology at Duke University.

Mike Dishowitz, PhDPCI Ventures Advisor
Michael Dishowitz manages a portfolio of PCI Ventures startup companies in life science sector, including therapeutics, medical devices and diagnostics. In this role, he focuses recruiting management, developing business strategies, fundraising, board management, supporting company operations, and executing deals. Prior to joining PCI Ventures, Dr. Dishowitz was a member of PriceSpective, a boutique consulting agency, where he specialized in determining asset valuation and pricing & market access potential of emerging life science technologies. Dr. Dishowitz has a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania.

William Beltran, DVM, PhDScientific Founder
William A. Beltran is Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the Division of Experimental Retinal Therapies at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on characterizing models of inherited retinal degeneration and deciphering mechanisms of photoreceptor cell survival and death. Dr. Beltran has received several awards including the Merck Innovative Ophthalmology Research Award, the Foundation Fighting Blindness Board of Directors Award, The Pfizer Ophthalmics Carl Camras Translational Award. Dr. Beltran obtained his veterinary degree from the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire d’Alfort-University of Paris/France . He also earned a PhD degree in Comparative Biomedical Sciences from Cornell University. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.

Gustavo Aguirre, VMD, PhDScientific Founder
Gustavo D. Aguirre is Professor of Medical Genetics and Ophthalmology at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and develops models of inherited eye and retinal degeneration. Dr. Aguirre has received numerous awards including The Foundation Fighting Blindness Trustee Award, International Prize for R&D in Biomedicine and New Technologies for the Blind, the Alcon Research Institute Award, and the Paul Kayser International Award in Retina Research. Dr. Aguirre earned his undergraduate, veterinary, and doctoral degrees at the University of Pennsylvania and served as a post-doctoral fellow at the Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine.
